The STRAUB® SEALING SYSTEMS are FLEXible, economical, reliable, space and time saving couplings custom made and ready to install. They are so reliable that STRAUB® offers a five year guarantee on each properly installed coupling.
STRAUB® couplings come in Five (5) different formats:
The STRAUB®-FLEX coupling will join virtually any plain end pipe. Whether pressure or suction lines, thick or thin wall pipe, the STRAUB®-FLEX coupling is installed quickly, safely and economically. STRAUB®-FLEX couplings can accommodate pipe system expansion and contraction movement as well as angular deflection (external pipe restraint required).
Pipe joining system without axial restrain for all pipe materials Up to 362.5 psi - 25 bar.
STRAUB®-FLEX is the optimal pipe joint for
The STRAUB®-OPEN FLEX coupling is a split coupling version of the STRAUB®-FLEX, offering all STRAUB®-FLEX benefits, plus being able to make REPairs to in service pipe lines. With the STRAUB®-OPEN FLEXcoupling, leaks due to faulty weld joints, pitting holes and short cracks can be temporarily or permanently REPaired with minimal down time. The spilt gasket design along with the slim line-casing can be wrapped around the pipe and assembled while the pipe system is under pressure and in service. Assembly tools are available to ease the assembly of the STRAUB®-OPEN FLEX coupling. When used to join pipe ends STRAUB®-OPEN FLEX coupling provides the same Flexibility feature as the STRAUB®-FLEX design.
Repair Coupling without axial restrain for all pipe materials Up to 362.5 psi - 25 bar.
STRAUB®-OPEN FLEX coupling without axial restraint up to 363 psi for all pipe material:
Couplings join plain end pipes. METAL-GRIP & GRIP-L couplings provide pull out resistance in excess of the couplings rated working pressure. Whether pressure or suction lines, thick or thin wall pipe, the METAL-GRIP & GRIP-L couplings are installed quickly, safely and economically. Due to the unique design of the teeth, as internal pressure increases, the anchoring effect is progressively increased. The engagement of the teeth into the pipe outside surfaces provides for electrical conductivity across the pipe joint.
Axial restraint coupling for all types of pipe Up to 900 psi - 62 bar.
STRAUB® METAL-GRIP & STRAUB®GRIP-L couplings are the optimal pipe joint for:
Couplings join plain end plastic and steel pipes. STRAUB® Plastic &COMBI-GRIP couplings provide pull out resistance in excess of the couplings rated working pressure. Whether pressure or suction lines, thick or thin wall pipe, the STRAUB® Plastic &COMBI-GRIP couplings are installed quickly, safely and economically.
The sealing sleeve (full-length gasket) which lies uniformly around the pipes circumference is only stressed within its elastic limit and guarantees permanent sealing effect. The sealing effect acts progressively under line pressure. Choices of sealing gaskets are EPDM or NBR.
On tightening to the specified locking torque, spring steel hard gripping teeth penetrate the pipe surface. They grip even more as forces in the pipeline increase. Thus, the tensile strength and axial restraint is guaranteed at all times.
Pipes can be installed with or without a gap between pipe ends. For wider pipe gaps up to 60 mm (2 3/8") add a stainless steel insert.
Minimum misalignment of pipes can be tolerated to a maximum of 1% (3 mm) of pipe OD. Use two couplings for larger lateral movement (articulation). Add a Stainless Steel strip insert for added strength in shear.
STRAUB®-FLEX pipe couplings are able to accept axial movement without the gasket sliding on the pipe. This is allowable up to the maximum pipe gap when moving in and out. Add a strip insert for larger movement or a Tee insert to prevent creeping.
Admissible angular deflection in any direction up to 4º
Different pipe OD's can be compensated within a certain limit (up to 5 mm). STRAUB® is not transition couplings.
STRAUB® couplings come delivered in one piece. All you need to do is slip it over the pipe end and tighten two or three bolts with a torque wrench. That's it!
Installations normally take 5 - 15 minutes depending on location
